A classically trained composer but a folk fiddle player at heart, Owen has never been content with doing one thing at a time.
Aside from being one half of flute/guitar duo Abi & Owen, Owen also heads up Greenwoodside—a new organisation set up to consider issues facing the folk scene, and find ways to tackle them through artist and audience development. This vision of keeping the folk scene rooted in the now and looking ahead is at the heart of his music, which unapologetically draws inspiration just as heavily from the pop/rock/electro bands of the 2000s as it does from traditional musicians.
